Human beings, whether ultimately created by an intelligent designer or
not, crave sex because they are genetically designed to do so.
The rounded shapes of the buttocks and breasts, pressed together to form
the illusion of a line down the center between them (cleavage), form an
image that is known as a primal archetype, or icon. This image, as well
as that of flushed red cheeks of the face, full pressed lips, large,
round eyes placed a certain distance apart in proportion to the size of
the skull, and indeed flaring large nostrils to an extent in some, form
the basis of most sexual attraction at the most fundamental level.
These features are present on the bossom and buttocks of a woman and the
full, rounded buttocks of boys and girls who have residual baby fat or
who have exercised their "glutes" through dance or gymnastics.
The phallus is also rounded at the end and has a cleft along the bottom
of the glans which is also aesthetically pleasing the to eye. Even the
most hetero of men can appreciate the image of his own penis.
The puritanical, patriarchal rants of Jewish sheep herders from 2000+
years ago as they struggled to eek out a nomadic existence while
transmigrating the ancient deserts of the Middle East are no basis for a
modern, just, ethical society. They had no time for juries and trials.
They had no scholars who were able to provide counsel for the defense of
someone accused of adultery, witchcraft, murder, etc. They dispatched
one another with great prejudice and acrimony while they fleet-footed
about looking for people to trade cattle, trinkets and daughters with.
God did not write your bible. Men did. Extremely flawed men with
serious sexual hang-ups. The days when waving a book around and getting
everyone to agree that it's God's word are dead and gone.
None of this is to say that there can be no morality, no civility, and
no ethics. Indeed, it is one of the great challenges of our time to
arrive at some kind of general, multicultural consensus on the moral and
ethical basis of our legal system.
Only through understanding the reasons why we "lust" for others can we
come to grips with it and control it. No one should victimize another
for the sake of fulfilling their personal fantasies. Neither should
anyone deprive another of sexual pleasure based on their outdated,
unreasonable, neurotic hang-ups about sex and its purpose. That too, is
a perversion. That too, is sexual abuse.
