Cant say as I saw/recall that incident. But there were a bunch of
different talk shows on during that period. Geraldo (no stranger to
controversy had a show on ABC at 11:30 pm IIRC. It was called Goodnight
America. Then there was also Tom Snyder with Tomorrow. Or, it could've
been a regional type show. It doesn't sound like anything that would
have taken place with Carson, the ultimate diplomat. Speaking about
Senators from Georgia my mind goes to Senator Sam, Sam Ervin. He was
more famous on the national stage in '74 during the Watergate hearings
though. Dont think I helped but hope I stoked a cinder of a memory.
Hopefully somebody else here can weigh in with more in depth stuff.
