BTW, I asked the same question of a friend of mine who happens
to be a Catholic priest, and he was quite annoyed. Not at me,
specifically, but at the question coming from a Muslim. He says
that he has tried various times to have friendships with Muslims
but inevitably they come up with the same "transparent" religious
question, under the cover of "just asking as friends."
My priest friend says he never ever again wants to engage in
such controversial discussions with a Muslim; it's a waste of time
because one is not going to change the mind of the other
when it comes to religious issues.
As for me, I'm flattered that I - "la pecadora" - a/k/a Maria
Magdalena .. heh ... have so many good friends of various
faiths who long ago stopped trying to "convert" me ... ;)
