Before anyone takes umbrage at what I'm about to say, let me explain
that the US military has no conception of our moral and ethical
standards. Wait! Before you dismiss me as unscrupulous, hear me out. In
public, the US military vehemently inveighs against corruption and sin.
But when nobody's looking, the US military never fails to lower this
country's moral tone and depreciate its commercial integrity. I could
tell the US military that it relies on sweeping generalizations to
"prove" that we should derive moral guidance from its glitzy,
multi-culti, hip-hop, consumption-oriented orations, although it
obviously doesn't care. I could tell it that blockish, aberrant
firebrands are burdened with the preconceived ideas or feeble
understanding of the circles to which they previously belonged, both
politically and philosophically, but it wouldn't believe me. It
probably also doesn't care that it confuses entertainment with
learning. So let me appeal to whatever small semblance of reason the US
military may be capable of when I tell it that people tell me that the
blatant ignorance and social maladjustment of its stratagems will
threaten, degrade, poison, bulldoze, and kill this world of ours one of
these days. And the people who tell me this are correct, of course.
Please forgive the following sermon, but it can't be avoided in this
discussion: The US military is not interested in what is true and what
is false or in what is good and what is evil. In fact, those
distinctions have no meaning to it whatsoever. The only thing that has
any meaning to the US military is commercialism. Why? Well, if I knew
that, I'd be in Stockholm picking up my prize and a sizable check. I
frequently talk about how I, not being one of the many pathological
wimps of this world, hold the US military's probity in question. I
would drop the subject, except that its reason is not true reason. It
does not seek the truth, but only judgmental answers, brain-damaged
resolutions to conflicts. If you think about it, if the US military
opened its eyes, it'd realize that it and its flunkies pay little or no
attention to the negative impact that conformism will have on our daily
lives. Ignorance is bliss. This may be why the US military's brethren
are generally all smiles.
To be sure, what the US military is doing is akin to painting a
mustache on the Mona Lisa, but I am burning to know what classes of
condescending, twisted reasons exist in the heads of those who
bad-mouth worthy causes. End of story. Actually, I should add that
licentious and cranky, its opinions resemble a dilapidated shed. Kick
in the door and the whole rotten structure will collapse, proving my
claim that all the US military really wants is to hang onto the perks
it's getting from the system. That's all it really cares about. The US
military is typical of pudibund megalomaniacs in its wild invocations
to the irrational, the magic, and the fantastic to dramatize its
insults. Ladies and gentlemen, the US military should learn to
appreciate what it has instead of feeling so oppressed because it can't
do everything it wants, every time it wants to. Our goal must now be to
tell the US military where it can stick it. If you believe that that's
a worthwhile goal, then I can definitely use your help. Let me hear
from you.
