This image is *found art*: a bit of Serious Technical Stuff that
fortuitously also pleases the eye (or, at least, *my* eye).
It shows part of an eight-layer printed-circuit board (PCB) used
to connect to a ball-grid-array (BGA) integrated circuit package
-- hence the name BGAPCB. The smaller green circles which do not
have block dots inside them are the "pads" which mate to the tiny
balls of solder on the bottom of the IC package; in real life,
these are about 30 to 40 thousandths of an inch apart, and a BGA
package may have as many as a thousand solder balls to connect to.
The green circles *with* black dots inside them are the vertical
connections ("vias") between two or more layers of the PCB which
make it possible to keep the number of signals carried on each of
the PCB layers down to a managable -- and manufacturable -- level.
This executable presents a jigsaw puzzle to be solved on-screen
using mouse and (optionally) keyboard; both this puzzle and
the program that created it, Jigs@wPuzzle2 from tibosoftware.com,
tested virus-free on my system, and Google has nothing negative
to say about either the program or the company, but still...
