**Welcome Wallace Loves Grommet NP-d03, better known to most as WLG.**
As a prezzie for WLG I thought I'd give a little Fort trivia:
Fort Badges were created originally to signify membership in Fort
society. Until a few years ago they were given out by the Fort's
founder Tommy (Sebupon) who now hangs out in his treehouse not far
from here. Many people don't realize that the NP stands for No Pubes,
which captured the imagination of early Fort inhabitants.
The other thing they don't realize is that to get one all you have to
do is ask. Me, in this case. One can ping me, or e-mail me at my
DudeWiththeHair address. We have several Badge holders who have never
posted in any group. We have several who were boys when they got their
Badges and some of those are still boys, or teens anyway. We even have
one girl, Princess NP-g03 who posted from time to time in The Fort and
related groups.
There are eight Badge Holders who are deceased that I know of.
We used to ask for the birthdates of the members along with their
favorite flavor of Ice Cream and favorite type of cake. This
information was used to celebrate birthdays in The Fort. At some point
it was decided that posting a birthday might be a security issue. So I
now just write down the date each member got his (or her) Badge. If
anyone wants to volunteer the cake and ice cream information, I will
add it to the Chronicles, such as they are.
The Fort was founded on February 24, 1998 by an eleven year old boy
named Tommy as a place for he and his friends to meet and play
together on their new WebTVs. A year later when I discovered The Fort,
it was already the headquarters for Boylovers in usenet. We normally
celebrate The Fort's birthday along with that of Tommy Sebupon in
November.
