Stephen's Secure Blog #403
These stories about Stephen began was when he was 10 years old, and
moving to a new part of the country to attend a special school for
gifted students, in the 1950's. This was from a time before computers
would fit on a desk, and when people communicated with friends in other
countries by actual letters sent through the postal service. He wrote
225 of them to a friend. He stopped writing to his penpal, but found he
still wanted to record his life, in case he lost his memory again, and
wrote 30 entries in his first logbook. Then he wrote to an artificial
intelligence called Geenee, in the master computer in his school for
gifted students, which he started attending in 2016. Now it's after
2018, and he's continuing to save his memories in a secure blog.
All characters are fictitious, even if some of them might have names
that belong to some actual people, or act like people we know.
The stories may not be posted in chronological order.
Stephen is 20 in this story, in Winter of year 11 of his special school.
Stephen's Secure Blog #403 "Conservative Agenda"
START Page
Back from commercial in the CNN interview show after my January 1st
love and healing broadcast, Don said, "Taxes. There are arguments about
taxes. Nobody wants to pay taxes, but people want what taxes are used
for. What are your opinions on that?" I said "Most of the arguments
about taxes are based on greed, selfishness, manipulation, and outright
barefaced lying." He said "Wow! Strong words." I said "I'm just getting
started. Interesting expression." He laughed. I said "Part of the
manipulation I mentioned is caused by the deliberate semantic
distortion and redefinitions of words and terms, specifically to play
on emotions and deceive people. For example, are what the Conservatives
say are good family values, what most Americans actually want in their
homes? About taxes, here is another deception; redistribution of
wealth. What they mean by that is people's taxes going to help poor
people, usually by giving them welfare cash. That last part is mostly
false. Only a tiny part of actual welfare is given in cash to the
individual, specifically to prevent the abuse of the system, so the
recipient won't use the money to buy drugs and luxury goods. Lying
about it makes a good scare tactic, though. What redistribution of
wealth actually is, might surprise a lot of people. Ready?" I made the
sound of a drum roll in the studio. I said "Economy. Yes, that's what
economy is. Every time you receive and spend money, you are
redistributing wealth. That causes economy, even if it's just
bartering. That's a GOOD thing. No society can exist without it. Take
it from another angle. Your taxes go to pay the salaries of our
citizens in the military. And it pays for the things they use that
helps keep them alive."
He said "Some people say that lowering personal income taxes will
increase employment." I said "Tell me how that would work." He thought
a little, and said, "Actually, I can't." I said "Those who say that,
justify it by saying that businesses will then have more money to hire
people. But let's look at that with both eyes and a brain. How many
businesses are wholly owned as personal property, where the profits
would be counted as personal income of the owner, and the other
personal income of the owner, counted as business revenue?" Don said "I
don't know, but surely not the big businesses that pay big money to the
politicians to say that."
I said "Right. VERY few, actually, and for very good reasons.
Business liability is very different from personal liability. Making it
a limited partnership or corporation gives you a lot of personal
protection, and opens the business up for better financing. Personal
income taxes don't have any effect on all that, which the politicians
who use that term do NOT want you to know. They just want you to link
being out of work, with higher taxes. But why? I'll tell you. More
manipulation and deceit. Their often stated agenda is to reduce the
size of the federal government. Why they want that, is partially
misdirection and deception. No Conservative American government,
despite what they want you to believe, has EVER reduced the size of the
federal government. That's because they don't really want to. Whoever
doesn't believe me, just look at this big fact. When they could, they
didn't. What they really want to do, is to kill all the social
programs, and all the agencies that regulate businesses. They want to
stop everything that helps people keep safe and healthy, and helps with
education. When they can't do that with direct laws, they try to do
that by withholding funding. When they can't do that, when they run the
executive branch, they cut personnel in those agencies, and reduce the
oversight of them, and hire those from the industries they regulate, to
do nothing. Those industries which buy the politicians to do that. So
now you know what they don't want you to think about, and why they are
trying to keep you from knowing it, with their sneaky deceitful
redefinition of words, and outright lying."
I said "But that's just touching the surface. WHY do they want to do
all that? Simple. They don't want anybody to pay for anything that's
against their religious views. That includes welfare that Jesus would
approve of. The arts. Science that would contradict the Bible.
Education that doesn't have the Bible in it, and things that contradict
the Bible. Anything that would keep the big business that keep them in
power, from being angry with them. Yes, that's what's behind the
Conservative position in America. They are pushing a Fundamentalist
Christian agenda, which has all but completely taken over the
Republican party, and is gaining headway in the Democratic party,
justifying that by saying that the Founding Fathers were Christian,
completely disregarding that those very Founding Fathers wrote in
opposition to that. They want to get rid of most of the Federal
Government, so the individual States could rule themselves without
interference, because they know they can't really succeed without that,
because some States will never go along with it. The big lie, is what
the Federal government is doing with your taxes, would then be up to
the States to do, and they would have to, because in this day and age,
it's necessary, so THEY would have to raise their taxes to even higher
levels than Washington, because they, being smaller, will be limited in
some resources, and so it would cost more. But they REALLY don't want
you to know about that! Then there will be much more competition
between the States, vying for the big corporations to locate there, and
quality of services, eventually resulting in local government
bankruptcy and interstate war."
I said "Yes, another Civil War, which for many, has never really
ended. They want to hide all this from you, and for some of them,
successfully from themselves. They're using every underhanded,
deceitful, unethical, immoral, lying tactic they can invent and use, to
accomplish their desire to create their theocratic vision of America,
that specifically is against what they are doing. They want their
Christian values to rule, which paradoxically also includes not lying.
They want to impose their family values on others, which they don't
follow themselves, which are actually harmful to society. Sadly,
tragically, they are very good at lying and fooling people this way,
convincing them to vote against their own very obvious best interests.
What's REALLY sad about this, is that some politicians don't actually
care about all that. They just see the opportunity to take advantage of
the Conservative machine to advance them in power, no matter how
harmful it could be to their country."
I said "And there is still more. They say they are very much against
the government interfering with people's lives, at the same time they
want the government to ban anything they don't like on TV, in museums,
libraries, and education, and ban abortions, sex education, and gay
rights. If that's not interfering with the lives of people, I sure
don't know what is! Why don't people see the deceptions and lies? Could
it be that they just don't care? I sure hope it isn't that. But the way
they vote has to have SOME reason. I don't know why they want to make
America into a backward country, but it does look like they are
succeeding, and I find that VERY sad. Now you might want to know why
I've said all this. I am fair. I have to be. People should be able to
choose the government they want to have, even if I don't personally
like it. What I oppose is LYING! That they can't do what they want to
do without the hypocrisy of deceitful manipulation and lying, should
raise a big red flag to everybody, that what they want isn't good. Oh
Don, did I make you speechless again? Let's go to break."
Don said "WOW!" I said "That's probably not what Conservatives are
saying, and breaking still another Commandment." He laughed. I said
"I've got more to say about this, which includes the deception of the
so called American Dream, but I don't think we have time for it." Len
said in the air, "We have permission. While you've got their attention,
go for it!" I gave them all a big evil grin, cracking them up.
Back from break, Don said "We are very interested in what Stephen has
to say about this subject, and I for one, am almost kicking myself for
not asking him before." I said "Don't look at me! I'm not going to help
you do any kind of kicking." He laughed. He said "Some people are
saying that companies won't hire more workers because they are unsure
of the future." I said "Being a vegetarian, I shouldn't call that
full of beans. We should ALL be unsure of the future, because that's
what the future is for. Anybody who isn't, is being a fool. Everybody
should know that corporations will only say what they think is in their
best interests, regardless of the truth. You tell me the answer. Can
you imagine a company NOT hiring more people if the demand for their
products or services increases?" He said "I see your point. Demand
regulates everything in business." I said "Right. It should be obvious,
but they don't say that. Could it be, oh horrors, they might want to be
a little bit deceptive?" He chuckled.
He said "What about the American Dream, where anybody can be
successful if they really work at it?" I said "The Conservatives really
like to use that to justify their self reliance position. They say that
helping people in tough circumstances prevents them from achieving the
American Dream. That's a big lie on multiple levels. There are many who
have succeeded very well, who grew up in families that had to receive
public assistance at times. Even some mothers who received it, have
become very successful, in spite of it, so to speak. But the American
Dream isn't what people think it is now. Most people never achieve it,
because it's just not possible. 95% of new businesses fail. Any honest
really successful person will tell you that luck plays a large part in
business success. If you do the right things, at just the right time,
in just the right way, all almost purely by chance, you might succeed a
very small portion of the time, for a while. It's like the lottery, and
in more than one way. The odds are REALLY against you, and the more
people who win, the less money you get. That's right. We can't all be
multimillionaires, because there just isn't enough money to go around.
If there were, being that, would have no value. The more money the rich
have, the less the rest of the people have."
I said "So the American Dream can ONLY work for a very few. And not
only do the poor get poorer, it's they and the middle class who
actually make that American Dream happen for other people. Yes, the
money to make others rich, comes from the poor, and the middle class
who are made poor. Well, where else CAN it come from? Remember, there
is only so much money to go around. In reality, the American Dream is
so much like a lottery, you might be better off actually buying lottery
tickets. Most people would think a person would be very foolish to
count on winning any kind of a lottery as their future success. But
that's what the Conservatives want you to believe, and actually make
that belief happen. They want to totally ignore those who won't and
can't make it, so those who are lucky enough to make it, such as
themselves, can profit from that, which they really do NOT want you to
know."
I said "The Conservatives are against spending any tax money on the
people who can't have the American Dream, but if they actually succeed
in that agenda, it will actually cost them more. After the break, I'll
tell you why." We went off air. Don said "Er, thanks. You know best
when it's er, safe to interrupt you." I said "I can hear Len laughing."
Don laughed. Back from break, I repeated what I had just said before
the break, and said, "Take health care, for instance. They really
oppose using taxes to pay for health care for those who can't afford
it. But then, who does the work that makes the big corporations
profitable? How well can a sick and dying person work?"
I said "Conservatives say, they can go to a hospital emergency room
for treatment. That's true. They can, and they do, tying up the
emergency rooms and staff with non emergency issues, so real
emergencies might not be handled as well, including those of RICH
PEOPLE. Ironic, isn't it? Wait, it gets worse. Hospitals can't turn
them away. It's against the law. They have to treat them. That costs a
lot of money. More, MUCH more, actually, than if the poor had their own
primary care doctors. Everything costs. Who pays for that? The
Hospitals either have to charge their other patients more to cover it,
which are mostly the middle class, who can't afford it, or it comes
from the government, which all pay their theoretically fair share to,
in taxes. And it costs more that way, than paying for the health
insurance of the poor, because emergency room treatment is VERY
expensive, and catching medical problems before they become emergencies
is MUCH cheaper in the long term. Conservatives aren't stupid. Well, a
few aren't. They have to know this. So why are they taking their
position? It's their secret agenda again. They say the poor should turn
to the churches for help, disregarding that many of the poor aren't
members of churches, and the churches themselves don't have nearly
enough money to pay for even a part of that. But they want you in the
churches, THEIR churches, any way they can make happen. I'm not opposed
to people going to church, but I AM very much opposed to being required
to, to live. And to people lying, who want to make that happen."
I said "They want to cut welfare, and social security. I can see
making some cuts, but not as much as they really want to. It's not
safe. Marie Antoinette in France didn't actually say people should eat
cake, when there wasn't enough bread to be had, but that attitude can
cause some people to lose their heads over it, and I don't mean just
metaphorically. People can argue about taxes and Wall Street all they
want, and remain relatively peaceful in their purposely caused
confusion, but if their survival is really threatened at the basic
level, and they wake up to that, and see through all the lies they've
been force-fed, they won't go peacefully into that good night, and ALL
will fall down, including the rich. Pulled down, in the final days. If
this is not to happen, wake UP! Look at the lies, and those who want
you to believe them. MAKE them be honest. You know how. DO IT. Let's go
to break now."
Don was in shock. Off air, I said, "Len, I'm finished for today."
Back from break, Don said, "We are out of the extra time we've been
given. Thank you, Stephen, for this very interesting discussion!" I
said "You're welcome." Len announced "Off air!" Len came into the room
actually crying. He hugged me, and said, "Thank you VERY much for
saying what should be said, and so well!" I said "Er, wow! You're
welcome. Took you guys long enough to ask me the right questions. All
that alien stuff must have distracted you." Don looked surprised, and
Oh, I see. You wanted my reactions." I said "Getting wise to me, I see.
Won't change anything, though." He chuckled.
I said "You might want to ask about other hot political topics now."
Len said "Absolutely! Would you be willing to moderate political
debates?" I said "Won't work in two ways. They wouldn't come, and if
they did, they wouldn't get many words in edgewise." They laughed. Don
said, "If we made you being there a surprise?" I said "Do that once,
and they can accept that it might be an accident. Do it again, and they
will know it isn't. That's not good for somebody who is ranting against
deceit." Len said "Right. What will you do if they quote you out of
context?" I said "Didn't you actually mean when?" He laughed, and said,
"No, but?" I said "I can tell them to look or listen to the whole show.
Or you can do that yourself. Well, it's YOUR network, and you have a
vested interest in not letting your network be used to promote
misdirection and lies." He said "Can we use that statement?" I said
"Yes, absolutely! And often, actually." Don laughed.
I said very seriously, "Why do you think I chose CNN for all this,
when I could have used any other venue, and even fed my charity with
it? It's your network's passion, and yes I mean just that, for the
truth. I don't know how you manage that, with all the temptations the
other networks have succumbed to, but I sincerely admire all of you for
your dedication and professionalism, which has justly earned you the
world wide position as the most welcome and trusted network for the
news. And I really value the friendship we've built on respect for and
sharing the truth." They had tears. I said "And you can use that, if
you want to. Here's a recording." Len took it with more tears.
I said "By the way, your reaction is mild, compared to, well, my
family and friends back home are going wild over what I said here
today. I'm a little er, afraid to face them now." They laughed. I said
I ported home, and they all piled on top of me. And not just my family,
but most all of the Guardians. Most were still crying, too, including
Tomba. Chad said, "Calls are coming in from all over, almost all
positive. Some are saying what took you so long." I said "I'll tell you
why." Dead silence. I tried not to laugh. They caught that, and had to
laugh, themselves. Rose said, "I think I know. You had to wait for the
show after a politician asked for your approval." Nigel and Ichi nodded
approval to her, and hugged and kissed her, which she really
appreciated the significance of. I said "Exactly. I can't just come out
of the blue with these things. They have to be set up properly, and
look like I'm just responding, and not like I'm pushing it for some
unknown agenda." They all nodded in appreciation.
Hawk said "What's next?" I said "I don't know. That's what makes it
so interesting. But then, who here expects much change to happen
because of this?" Silence. I said "Don't all speak at once." Laughter,
and some pokes. Pete said, "But I think it will go down in history as a
turning point in American politics. Well deserved, too." I said "Maybe,
but I really wish it didn't have to be me who did it. I've done too
much already. They shouldn't become dependent on me for things like
this, or anything else. One more reason why it is right I should go
when expected." I got poked from the others, my bosses. My people all
felt it too. They looked at me in awe. I was tempted to make fun of
that, but I successfully resisted it. Rose said, "Anything you can
share?" I said "Still making sense of it. Got approval in it. Love. And
kind of a date. Good to know, so I can prepare the right way for it.
Something about our children, but that's a little complicated. I'll
work on that later. That's all. Oh, they really approve of shared love
broadcasts, and ask that when the children become psionic, they be
included, which I had planned, anyway." Rose nodded. Hawk asked, "The
date?" I said "Are you sure you really want to know?" He said
"Actually, no, not right now. Later, maybe." They agreed with him. We
were quiet then, just sharing love.
