I had the same difficulties with the plot. When you get to the end, the
meandering pieces will all tie together. It's not much different than
reading Tolstoy.

I do feel a certain glee in pointing out that your posting also requires a
good copy-editor. However, you're not the only person who cannot do plurals
without apostrophes. I see them everywhere.
