Thanks for the replies.
I just couldn't think of any other animals that would produce fur. There
are several mentions of "bed furs" such as Piemur's which were soiled by the
drum apprentices.
FYI- the dolphins recognized Readis' "runner beast" as being a "horse"-
"looks horse-ish".
