A rifle company or Schutzen-Kompanie march through one of the many
fields that covered many hundreds of square miles of the steppe. A
rifle company in that summer of 1942 was composed roughly of 190 men.
It consisted of three rifle platoons, plus an anti-tank group, which
contained seven infantrymen armed with three 7.92mm PzB.39 anti-tank
rifles
