Does the Optibook 3900 auto detect page edges and auto de-skew (if needed)?
I could only find a couple of videos of the 3900 or similiar models
from Plustek that showed scanning. But it looks a lot faster than my
workflow and seemed to need little page image cleanup. I'm assuming the
light nature of comics floppies would require using the lid to press
the pages flat unlike the book scanning I saw where they just flipped
the book with the lid open the whole time. Only took a few seconds per
page.
It takes me 2-3 minutes to scan a double page and I have to de-skew and
crop manually. The Microtek is a decent scanner and likely a workhorse
but it's not very fast.
I'm thinking I should have went with the Optibook.
