Man, do I hear that.
I have something like 12 long boxes filled with comics from the '80s,
most of which are of no value whatever. I have no idea what I'm going
to do with them.
When I was a kid, I had a friend who had most of the early Marvels,
which is where I first read them. They were beat, so not of much value,
but it did lead me into being a Marvel reader when I was older. I've
owned multiple copies of Amazing Fantasy 15 and Spider-Man 1 in my day.
None were in great condition, but I wish I still had them. Who knows --
maybe they were good enough that I could pay off my house.
As for the Archies, the big ones are only 72ppi but almost 40 inches
high saved at PS Level 12 quality. Redusing them to 8.5 inches wide @
150ppi and saving at PS Level 8 quality reduces a 3.4 MB file to 1.4
MB. So that's helpful, but just too much work. Yeah, I could create a
script to do it, but it doesn't seem worth the effort.
Somewhere I think I have a bunch of the Archie radio broadcasts (as
posted years ago on Usenet) and youTube has a B&W Archie live-action
pilot which is not terribly good.
