You forgot about the only rule that matters in usenet: posters rule.
Jimmy will and should do things the way he pleases. He is comfortable
with the way things are working now. It's not like you're sticking
your neck out to post anything, right?
You also failed the self sufficiency test. If everyone else can figure
out how to get keyfiles and passwords, why can't you? Simply read the
text files in any of our groups and you will quickly see what needs to
be done.
There are lots of people in these groups who are more than willing to
help you, if you ask nicely. But complaining to the poster only pisses
off the poster. If you piss off the poster, then you're ass out and
everyone else is too. How do you think that will make the rest of us
feel about you? It's happened before, that's why the despised 'private
groups' exist. Posters got tired of lazy, demanding downloaders and
whiners.
So look around, see who to ask for help and ask.
