this is a good site for finding whats available in your araea and distances to
a an antenna farm. most ares were required to move their transmitters to a
farm to eliminate the need to rotate your antenna. usually in the middle of a metro area

a tv guide i like that has good OTA broadcast channel info is, just choose "New Lineup" then
"broadcast" and then put your zipcode in. you'll know it's right if the channel numbers are
2.1, 2.2 ... 6.1, 6.2 ,etc

a good site with area specific forums for people to get local info on OTA broadcast
like what kind of antenna people use in your area. you do'nt need a "digital antenna"
that are often advertised. an antenna like the ones we used in the fifties works fine.
all new digital channels are broadcast UHF (or should be). the is one in my area that broadcasts on
channel 11 (vhf) so i have to have an element just for that station. almost all antennas now are UHF
only. my homemade antenna is a simple version of the gray-hoverman
