ah, religious school! how things change over time... when I started
school, in America, late 1950's, religious schools were not the norm,
so most of my generation went to public schools and had secular
educations... that started to shift after the 1970's and that Jesus
Movement and other factors, like an anti-liberal backlash against the
ultra-liberal 1960's, and by the 80's, religious schools and charter
schools were gaining in popularity, and the public schools, and public
TV were starting to be defunded and denounced by the religious types,
and America has been having its liberal secular nature subverted to
the right, with the election of George W Bush as a hall mark victory
for that faction...
oversimplification, of course... but you are correct that having a
religious education doesnt product the effect the religious types
think they are producing, and thus now these same people have elected
Trump, who is huffing and puffing very christian like declarations,
and i shudder to think where this is heading... war seems inevitable
with such a god-is-on-my-side mentality
