I took early retirement too 5 yrs ago instead of relocating South with
the Co. Made it thru 3 company sales/name changes in 33 years. The 4th
time I thru in the towel. My son went military instead of college so
didn't have that expense. Used that money to pay off the house and
live like a peasant too on a small pension. It's boring but there's no
stress. That alone could help me live longer (I tell myself)

My dad did the same, got old, weak and depressed, stopped eating and
drinking and died a week before his 91st.

Everone in the ABE area worked at Beth Steel in the 70s. I worked with
a guy whose grandparents, parents, and 5 of his brothers worked there
until the 70s when it went away. I admire Trump for trying to bring
those kind of jobs back, but no one wants to do that kind of hard
work anymore. They want to be programmers or rappers :/
The Friends/Seinfeld reference was just a metaphor for shitty cable
commercial TV programming on 24hr loops of 10 mins of rerun show/5
mins of commercials/10 show/5 commercials on and on....I'm a TV junkie
but I'd lose my mind if that's all there was to watch, which is where
usenet comes in handy, right :)
