Let's say (hypothetically) that I use a usenet server that has 10
years' retention.

And let's say I rely on binsearch to locate files stored by my server --

but binsearch only goes back 5 years.

How the heck do I access the older 5 years of files?

And what's the point of saving them if no one can get at them?
