Thank you for this reasoned and moderate comment.
I'd add another point. There are at least of couple of active groups
right now with an "anything goes" attitude toward boy-porn. They are
on Doc's list. So it's not like there's no place on the net to post
and download this kind of thing. Here, I will spell one out for
everyone:

And "jimmy" has got some kind of new ego-trip group going as well, and
there is a group with the delightful word "bugger" in the name. So
there, porn fans, go and enjoy.
At the other extreme, there is a retro-moderated group where zero
nudity is allowed (though avoice/UVRae has lately seen fit to violate
that rule as well).
What has been missing is a middle ground between these two extremes:
that is, a group that allows naturist photos, tasteful studio nude
photography, and that sort of thing, but does NOT expose users to
child porn -- and I'm talking about stuff like extreme close-ups of the
genitalia of tiny boys, older boys with erections, clothed models in
provocative "come fuck me" poses -- all of which are plainly illegal.
This middle standard, which now seems so elusive, was maintained
happily for years by the old a.b.p.boys group, of which "Johnie" was
the FAQ keeper -- and it is because of that group that we have most of
the classic photo series that are still shared online. So it is
possible to strike a sane and legally safe balance, but only if there
is a willingness in the community to observe certain modest conventions.
This group has served, for a little while now, as the missing middle
ground. It's been kind of cool, even though only a few of us have been
posting. But as with so many things on the net, it is very easy to get
carried away and muck things up for everyone.
My quiet suggestion for this group is to maintain the middle standard:
nudity is okay, pornography is not. This apparently makes me an
"asshole" in the eyes of distinguished community members like BoyFuzz
whose contributions are ... well, I'm not sure, but flaming posters is
certainly a really smart and helpful place to start.
I'm going to post a suggested tiny FAQ. It's not up to me what other
people want. This group, like any group, belongs to the users. So you
guys can decide.
