The model names are either true, or entirely fancy. Some we know to be
true, and some sound too aristocratic to be true. Who can tell?
The Japanese spelling of foreign names is quite an inaccurate business.
I have put the romajized katakana spelling in [brackets], and made my
best to recognize the actual name behind that. Alas, there's an
unsolvable problem with the missing ending consonants. The editor has
taken overly literally the French rules of pronunciation, even with the
non-French names.
I will take no responsibility of the interpretation; read the names as
you wish to.
The given age seems to be about correct, the year of birth doesn't. The
sets were published elsewhere many years before this book, but the
cheating publisher wanted to make a false impression of new material. So
he recalculated the true age in the photos backwards from 1984, or so,
and ended in false year of birth. The month and day may still be
correct, if anything.
Photographers are credited in a consistent manner. Some are well known,
so maybe all of them are true names. The problem is in recognizing them
behind the katakana curtain. If you know any of them better, please,
inform the group.
There's still more information in the 'data sheets': model's
longitudinal and circumferential measures, gravitational mass, etc. The
poor quality of the scans makes reading almost impossible. Read what you
can!
The pages 51 and 62 had changed places in the original and following
postings. I have corrected the error. (Yes, they might have been so in
the book itself, but error is an error.)
