Limbaugh and other conservatives kept telling us about a massive
cover up involving the special prosecutor investigating Cisneros. He
claimed that Democrats were trying to quash the report but never
explained how this could be done when Republicans control Congress and
the Executive branches.
Anyway, the report was issued and had the following:
After 10 years and $ 22 million no indictments were issued(Cisneros
pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor before the prosecutor was named).
For the last two years no witness were called and no subpoenas were
issued. What was Barrett ding for that period?
His request to expand the investigation to include the IRS was denied
by Ashcroft.
Conservatives have now lost interest in the topic.
