It is our understanding the expression *Jump the Shark* is used to describe
a situation in either a book or movie, when the powers that be have long
since run out of ideas are so desperate that any ludicrous or preposterous
idea is used in forlorn attempt to hold the readers or viewers attention.
But it fails miserably, and in doing so cause more harm than good, and is
usually the kiss of death to that book or movie, no matter how many loyal
fans it has, or far back those many loyal fans may go.
As for the term *Nuke the Fridge* this is nothing more than trying to
recapture those lost fans by placing silly and daft scenes in the vain and
futile belief that this just what the fans really want or need, in order to
bring them back in droves.
As in using Dysfunctional Behavior as a ploy for character development.
*FAMILY* connoisseurs of savant eccentricity.
