Unfair hardware failure in computer science
lab is extremely unfair to Microsoft.

(Scene 1 Mack and Screech and Martin meet for lunch
on Glenoak community college picnic table.)
MARTIN
There was a science fiction website last semester
that claimed that there is a 13 megabyte zipped
tar file that can be downloaded and added to Linux with
XWindows and then convert that Linux XWindows into
genuine Microsoft Windows.
SCREECH
What is the URL of that website?
MARTIN
I forgot.
MACK
Microsoft spent billions of dollars on the best programmers
in the World to come up with Microsoft Windows after years
of hard work. A crackpot science fiction website is unlikely to
come up with a replacement for Microsoft Windows.
SCREECH
The Death Star of Star Wars did come up with a majic
header file bam10004.h that is used instead of windows.h
to compile most c programs written for Microsoft Windows
into Linux XWindows using the Linux c compiler gcc to make
a Linux binary file.
MACK
That will only help the c and c++ programming languages.
SCREECH
c and c++ are the best high level programming languages
ever developed.
MARTIN
bam10004.h is monochrome only. Only monochrome bitmaps can
be displayed with it.
SCREECH
That is enough for a free header file during a recession.
We have a recession now so genuine Microsoft Windows
is unaffordable.
MACK
How could bam10004.h be created ??
SCREECH
First, powerful supercomputers on board the Death Star of
Star Wars had to create two table arrays of constants.
one array reverses the order of bits within a byte
to help SetDIBitsToDevice reverse the order of pixels
within each group of eight so the backwards bit order within
a byte of Linux XWindows display can be accomidated.
The other table of constants translates Linux XWindows
raw keycodes into Microsoft Windows raw keycodes.
Raw keycode to ascii translation functions are removed from
both a Linux XWindows program and a Microsoft Windows program
and then two loops were used. The outer loop counter was
fed into the Linux XWindows keycode translator and the
inner loop counter was fed into the Microsoft compatible
keycode translator from the application program and whenever
the two translators produced the same ascii result the
outer loop counter was the array subscript while the
inner loop counter became the array value at that location.
75 per cent of the hard work to create bam10004.h was done
BY COMPUTER!!
Then we had to figure out how to translate a monochrome
bitmap into a Linux XWindows displayable plane.
After that it was just crunching through the names of simple
remaining subroutines and making up new values for named
Microsoft Windows constants.
bam10004.h is free and Linux is free.
The monochrome only restriction is not a hardship
because most programs only need to display one bit per
pixel.
(Then the tree snaps as it is hit by a shuttle. Glenoak communnity
college has two large shuttle golf carts and many small ones
and they have been driving all over campus.
After snapping the tree, the golf cart shuttle then drives on the
sidewalk in front of the SC building. In Fall of 2008
the last day to drop without a W is Friday September 26.
Drop your science class if motor vehicles are driving on the
sidewalk in front of it at the SC building instead of waiting
around to get run over.)
MACK
It is very unfair for those golf carts to drive on the sidewalk
or lawn or anywhere outside of the street because it
puts pedestrians at risk of being run over.
SCREECH
During summer of 2008 upgrades in Internet search enjines
enabled the discovery of a news article that revealed
that five pedestrians were run over by Los Angeles
County life guard trucks that were being driven on the
beach outside of the street!
MACK
It is extremely unfair to run over pedestrians outside
of the street!
It is also very unfair for the Califorina legislature to
provide money for employees to run over pedestrians
outside of the street or even drive at all outside of
the street. Put a proposition on the ballot to cut
Californias tax revenue in half because State and County
and City and Community college employees daring to drive
outside the street is evidence that California has
too much money. Cut the taxes in half to make
pedestrians safer!
SCREECH
Developing an all volunteer jury system in all of Californias
courts will enable the conviction and confinement of bad
drivers who unfairly run over pedestrians outside the street.
MACK
That article about the careless lifeguard who ran over
five pedestrians on the beach failed to mention prison
for the lifeguard. Did twleve people who were unable to get out
of jury duty vote to let him or her go?
Voluntary jurors will be far more qualified to vote for
a correct verdict.
SCREECH
Ask the California legislature to eliminate funding for
lifeguard trucks and their gasoline.
Sell ALL golf carts at communnity college campuses and lay
off ALL drivers and use the money saved to hire
additional TEACHERS.
MARTIN
Let us go inside and check CE 101
(Scene 2 CE 101)
CE 101 computer science lab is responsible for presenting
Microsoft Windows in a favorable manner to computer science students.
In CE 101 there are monitors and keyboards and blank spaces
without computers and broken computers. Only a small number of
computers still work.
MACK
What happened to CE 101 ?
SCREECH
During summer session a bunch of High School drop - outs in CS901
forgot to turn the computers off on Thursday. A hot Sunday burned
up the motherboards on all the newest of computers.
The air conditioner was powerless against that very hot Sunday.
MARTIN
Over here is one computer that has no out of order sign. It has
a CD ROM drive without DVD capability.
MACK
Microsofts Visual Studio with Dot.NETs for C++ and csharp and
Visual Basic comes on a DVD image and has to be installed FROM
A GENUINE DVD and not a tiny CD.
MARTIN
A professor was here last week asking the lab technician
to install C++ for his C++ online class called CS939.
SCREECH
Linux fully supports C++ programming
c++ progname.cpp -o progname.out
./progname.out
to compile and run a cs939 style C++ program
on Linux.
Just install a cd version of Linux on each remaining computer
and use Linux for the C++ class scince the DVD capable
new computers all burned up during the summer heat so that
there is NO MORE DVD MICROSOFT VISUAL STUDIO AT ALL
here!!!!
MACK
Most of these computers have a bad power supply sign on them
near their DVD drives. Could the power supplies be replaced ??
After replacing the power supplies we could install the
Microsoft Visual Studio programming languages for Dot.NET DVD.
SCREECH
Replacing the power supplies is unlikely to help these computers.
Part of the power supply is on the Motherboard. A power mosfet
transistor and a high current diode and a ring torrid inductor
and a electrolytic capacitor
that are all solderd flat onto the motherboard and controlled by
a switching Integrated circuit on the Motherboard drop the
low voltage power supply voltage down to an even lower voltage
at a very high current for the very fast low voltage CPU.
Over here is a newer DVD computer that has a sign on it
09/16/2008 THIS COMPUTER STILL DOES NOT BOOT EVEN AFTER THE POWER
SUPPLY HAS BEEN REPLACED.
MACK
Can new power MOSFETS and diodes be soldered onto the motherboard ?
SCREECH
First you have to remove the old SHORTED power mosfet and
SHORTED power diode that were solderd flat onto the motherboard
with lots of solder. A normal soldering iron does not make
enough heat to unsolder the power mosfet or the power diode.
Tearing those old short circuited parts off of the motherboard
will destroy the motherboard.
None of those newer computers can be fixed.
MACK
But we need to fix them so we can install the Microsoft Visual
Studio DVD with programming languages.
MARTIN
I know that this is very hard to beleive. After you use the
Microsoft Windows API textbook for C programming to write a c
program that uses SetDIBitsToDevice to draw a picture on the
screen download the bam10004.h header file and
#include "bam10004.h"
instead of <windows.h>
and compile your c program on Linux instead of Microsoft Windows.
Microsoft discontinued its visual c++ 6.0 and the
newer studio is too hard to install and does not neccessarrily
work AT ALL.
MACK
We should ask the school to buy new computers for CE 101.
MARTIN
Microsoft might go out of business long before
the school can afford to buy new computers.
SCREECH
ASk the school to put some older computers that are in storage
warehouses into CE 101. Older versions of Linux can run on older
computers so Microsoft Windows is no longer needed.
USE LINUX c++ for the CS939 C++ programming class.
MACK
Microsoft Windows will be hard to save.
1 )Stop public employees from driving outside of the street!!
2 )Make political progress twoard an all volunteer jury system
for every trial.
3 )Make influenza virus as extinct as smallpox. Influenza
and required jury duty both take skilled employees away
from work on important workdays and have already
brought Microsoft to the edge of bankruptcy.
First, Highly skilled managers and programmers
are taken away by required jury duty then
substitutes catch influenza and the influenza
sniffles and coughing make it hard to concentrate
on notes left behind by jurors so Microsoft Windows
XP is not as good as Windows 98 Se and Windows Mojave
does not work at all!
Influenza arrives in the United States in August and
the flu shots do not show up until November and are
rationed so people between 2 and 64 years old are
not eligible to be vaccinated. Scince the flu shots arrive
after the influenza virus and are not available to everyone
because of rationing I am asking for this new alternative.
Provide Army troops with white hot flame throwers and
BURN UP every bird and animal WORLDWIDE that is suspected
of having influenza. Sick animals will also be burned
up. Captain Jonathan Archer visited a planet where the policy
is to BURN UP viruses with white hot flame throwers!!
Abolishing influenza will improve worker productivity
and END THIS RECESSION!
4 )Make sure EVERY communnity college has ALL FOUR
known C++ programming courses CS939 CS936 CS940 and CS961.
5 )Properly maintain educational computer labs. Old computers
that work and use LINUX are better than burned up broken
new computers that do not work. Most new computers
last only one year because the motherboard burns up
during the heat of the first summer session of use!
Most older computers last a lot longer than new computers.
6 )Make more in classroom classes and fewer online
courses. Always use a traditional textbook for every
course including online courses. The State of California
should no longer pay for online courses that only have
a training CD ROM and no independent TEXTBOOK.
Those training CDs with movies of lectures and simulated
labs should be totaly abolished!! Most of those
training CDs violate the intellectial property rights
of Microsoft.
7 )We need to recognize that Microsoft has the intellectial
property right to demand the cancellation of any
online course that lacks a traditional independent
paper TEXTBOOK at the community college bookstore!!
.
Genuine Microsoft Windows is extremely hard to save and this
recession is already very hard on Microsoft. Ignoring these
problems will soon result in Microsoft quitting business and
laying off its employees.
SCREECH
Even though free
bam10004.h is monochrome only and genuine Microsoft
Windows has to be used for color when the economy is good
this recession is so severe that Linux + bam10004.h already
does enough for Windows c programs that this recession
can put Microsoft out of business even without an upgrade
to color capability.
There will be no economic recovery without replacing broken
computers in CE 101. Broken computers in CE 101 are primary
evidence of the extent of the current economic recession.
