Which is a large part of the reason that AT&T (before the SBC merger) bailed
on cable service. Where I live, AT&T was in protracted negotiations with the
City of San Jose, where the city was demanding concessions that AT&T wasn't
willing to make; therefore, no cable Internet in San Jose. Until AT&T bailed
on HSI service, and sold out to Comcast. Of course, AT&T Worldnet Internet
was less than half the price of Comcast Internet, even where AT&T Worldnet
was reselling DSL.
