I don't think so. Simon's opinions are often honest, painful though
they be, and I find I often agree with him. I started watching
"American Idol" just this year, and I even started voting on my cell
phone. But I find I like them all so much, I hate to pick a favorite.
Voting is wrenching for me, because all of them are pouring their souls
into this, and I empathize with the pain they must feel when they're
finally eliminated. On the other hand, it's got to be an incredible
experience for them all. Look at them: each week they sing to millions
of people, and the even star in those customized automobile commercials.
They're famous to the point that I've seen an impersonation of Taylor
on "Saturday Night Live" and David Spade mentioned him on that stupid
show he has now on Comedy Central.
I think Catherine is toast this time. Watching her for the past two
weeks, it seems as if she's grown more nervous and it's affecting her
ability to remain strong throughout the song. She really wobbles at
some point in every song.
I think the last two standing will be Elliot and Chris.
