It means "Separate Audio Program" and it's to access some programs that
have a bilingual soundtrack. You can switch it over to SAP and here a
program, say, in Spanish. Or Turner Classic Movies (TCM) broadcasts
some movies that have all the sound you normally hear, plus a narrator
that describes the action, for the benefit of the visually impaired. To
access that feature, you switch to SAP. I have yet to hear anything
coming over it, however.
