I love the caveman Geico ads. It cracks me up the way the cavemen in
the restaurant show their indignation toward the announcer. As he
apologizes and explains that he didn't know there were "any of you
left," the first one dismisses his excuse with, "Yeah, well you should
have done a little more research." But it's the next comment that does
me in. The waiter comes up and asks if they're ready to order. The
other caveman -- wearing a pink shirt, with sunglasses fashionably
resting across his head -- says to the waiter, but for the benefit of
the Geico representative, "I'll have the roast DUCK," -- then before
finishing the rest of his order, fixing his baleful eyes toward the
salesman, to emphasize the irony of it, a caveman ordering this fine
dish with the graciousness of a bon vivant, then delivers his coup de
with the insult to eat. "I haven't got much of an appetite," he says,
tosses the menu back on the table, then just glares at the Geico man.
I haven't seen the Kleenex ad.
