Jump the Shark is supposed to be the ultimate season ending cliff hanger,
but when the next season opens with the situation resolved it just comes
across as an Anti Climax.
Nuke the Fridge is what happens when the audience matures, and will not
except any type of ludicrous or preposterous antics masquerading as drama.
