CHRIS
Mandatory Health insurance is unfair to everyone
including people who already have health insurance because when
either big political party requires people to buy health
insurance demand increases so premiums on already
existing policies increase a large amount.
My Father Julius already has two jobs. In 2014 He will
need to get a third job to pay the higher premiums that
mandatory health insurance requires if it is not repealed
before then.
When will he sleep ?? It is unfair to require my father
to get a third job to pay for mandatory health insurance
because that is slavery and involuntary servitude
in absolute violation of the thirteenth amendment
of the U.S. constitution.
In the past the Income tax had a zero bracket and lower
percentages of tax for low income workers. The minimum
cost of health insurance plus the minimum fine for being
underinsured is unfair to poor people who have to pay
more than 100 per cent of their income for their premium
plus the $695.00 minimum fine that has no zero bracket
income amount for lower income people.
In addition to being unfair to individuals mandatory health
insurance is unfair to small businesses. Workers go on strike
to demand higher pay than employers can afford so they can
try to pay their increasing health insurance premiums.
Doc has announced that he will CLOSE HIS STORE and lay off
all employees on December 31 2013 unless mandatory health
insurance is repealed before then.
The Fall 2010 election is a good time to look up third
party candidates on the Internet. Are there any candidates
on any ballot for any elected office who oppose requiring
people to buy health insurance who could introduce a bill
to repeal mandatory health insurance ??
(Also check for candidates who will support converting
courts to an all volunteer jury system.)
Look beyond the two big political parties this time.
A third party candidate might already have a plan
to abolish mandatory health insurance even if both big
parties care nothing about poor people who are unable to
afford high cost mandatory health insurance.

I got an error message when trying to install
Windows Vista Mojave Seven as a guest operating system
in a virtual machine. The combination product key and
activation code is invalid even after carefully respelling
it several times.
CHRIS
Mine does not work either.

Back in the good old days Windows 98 SE always worked
when the 25 character product key was correctly spelled
because Windows 98 SE does not require online activation
and also does not have a time limit
that were invented several versions later.
CHRIS
But Windows 98 SE does not support USB flash drives
or thumbdrives and newer computers have negative
two gigabytes of memory that confuses Windows 98 SE
so it will not run on a new computer.
GREG
Put Windows 98 SE in a virtual machine as guest and
set virtual guest memory to only 256 Mb.
CHRIS
Windows 98 SE will not accept shared folders because
32-bit Fedora 7 balloon Linux is the only operating system
that accepts vboxguestadditions that is installed on the
guest OS to use shared folders.
GREG
Just upgrade the HOST operating system by turning it into
a web server. Then the guest Windows 98 SE can use its
web browser to browse the host and download stuff it needs
from the HOST!!
CHRIS
Can we ask the teacher whether there is an older Windows
such as Windows 2000 Pro or Microsoft Windows 98 SE
that the school still might have that can be installed
as a guest operating system in a virtual machine the next
time we have to install a Windows Guest ??
I HATE IT WHEN Microsoft uses ONLINE ACTIVATION
because it DOES NOT WORK. the code the teacher gave us
should have worked because our school has a site
liscence but it did not work because activation is
inherently unreliable in its design pattern.

Activation makes Windows HARDER TO USE. Microsoft must
abolish activation NOW because Microsoft no longer has
a guaranteed monopoly on P.C. operating systems.
At least three Linux distributions are planning
MASSIVE UPGRADES in the near future. Some students
have begun to fiddle around with Linux and Linux
already has some working versions that can be successfully
installed with a medium amount of effort. Linux does not
have to be activated. If Microsoft continues to require
activation for Windows we will soon have a LINUX MONOPOLY!!
( It is not good for any one operating system to have a monopoly
because it will then stop improving and possibly even evolve into
a non-working operating system so that computers will no longer
work in the future. Competition between at least two
working operating systems is essential.)

Some of my old textbooks come with a two week temporary
Windows install CD for Windows 2003 Server that requires
online activation and lasts only two weeks.
GREG
AS an alternative to time limits and online activation Microsoft
textbooks with CDs should provide students with a Windows
that has a one-bit-per-pixel monochrome graphics display
and has no time limit and also does not have to be activated.
( People who need 24-bit color can buy a more expensive Windows
seperately.)
Linux + wine already provides at least one bit per pixel
and runs most Windows applications including Dot.NET 1.1 compatibility
beginning with wine-1.1.33
without activation and without a time limit.

I just had to DROP CS939 C++ class because the Windows
in room CE 101 has a non-working C++ compiler that
has an error message demanding a registration activation
number.
The teachers at all four year colleges want all programming students
to compile programs and then fix the compile time mistakes and
then compile their program and run it and then find and fix
logic errors that occur at run time. It is IMPOSSIBLE to learn
programming without students compiling and fixing their
programs.
In order to reinstate transferability of community college
computer courses to four year colleges it is essential for the
community college computer science lab computers to have
working compilers ( And an assembler for assembley language class).

When doing research for the WINE project I found out that the 22 Mb
Microsoft Dot.NET runtime package for Dot.NET 1.1 includes
a csharp compiler called csc.exe
csharp is different from C++ and is more like JAVA than C++
because csharp is supposed to be used instead of JAVA.
Ask a teacher to order a programming in csharp textbook
and to offer a second semester course in csharp programming
with a new course number to replace the unfulfillable cs939
c++ course.
You have to install Internet Explorer 5.5 in Windows 98
before installing the Dot.NET 1.1 framework with csharp.

Just use Linux. In Linux you use
c++ progname.cpp -o progname.out
./ptogname.out
to compile and run C++ with Linux.

What if the establishment limits Linux to only one computer
and all 35 C++ students are waiting in line to use that one
computer during the last two weeks of the semester to get their
ten programming assignments done ?
GREG
Try asking the teachers to switch to a csharp textbook and use
Microsoft Dot.NET 1.1 runtime that includes csc.exe to compile
csharp onto Microsoft Windows. Microsoft probably still allows
schools to use csharp in 2010 2011 school year even though C++
was ordered discontinued by Microsoft several years ago.
The csharp course will need a new course number different from CS939.

Chrises Father Julius is in the office with his boss.
BOSS
Julius, the healthcare reform law is going to cost too
much money. This newspaper will no longer be delivered
unless new candidates are elected in the Fall 2010 election
and they soon succeed in repealing mandatory health insurance.
I am asking you to vote carefully and to make sure that you
make it to the polls and VOTE in the Fall 2010 election.
Elections matter. You will LOSE YOUR JOB if health insurance
remains mandatory!!!!!!!!
