I agree completely. There are many 14 YO women who are far more mature
than most people who are older, but I don't think that guys my age
going after them for sexual liasions makes any sense, unless the guy
happens to have some weird youth fetish. Don't get me wrong that I
think 14 YOs are not potentially sexually appealing, but so are
post-pubescent women of older, even much older ages, and going to jail
over that shit isn't on my agenda.
I don't think that older guys finding nubile youngsters attractive is
morally wrong. Shit, it's sociobiologically evolved in. The arbitrary
age restrictions for acting on those attractions do make some sense
though, because there are asshole guys who just want to use their
superior life-knowledge to get into unequal relationships, and in most
cultures the deck is already stacked against women for achieving equal
power-status in sexual unions.

I never felt that I needed to be protected from the nutty Islamic
fundies as much as I felt threatened by the Christian fundies here at
home. Both have hijacked a religion to oppose the ideal of free
society, perverting their religions' acceptance and obedience to God
into a punishment on Earth, rather than in the afterlife, take on the
concept of sin.
Why is Eric Rudolph not on death row? 14 YO girls have a right to
know.
