I had the video checked out. There ARE some errors in it, in at least
three sections. Most people can play this movie in it's entirety with
one or more players. It seems that before HM got it, someone had split
it and joined it improperly, possibly leaving out some parts. For those
who are interested in what it offers, this movie does have some value.
Maybe someone who can, will be nice enough to repair it and post again.
For a start, I would recommending demuxing it. Removing the audio track
can sometimes remove the hesitations caused by missing video parts.
On to other things. Addressing a perceived lack of fairness is a nobel
endeavor. But not when you respond with your own lack of fairness.
Setting a good example, by acting in a way that you want to others to
act, could help you in what you do.
There are no "in-people" or out-people here, unless you are referring
to belly buttons, and I'm NOT going to show you mine!
Anyway, in your opinion, would I be an innie or an outie in these
newsgroups, even though I'm not known as a movie poster?
There are more ways to usefully contribute here than with just posting
porn. Those who do, you may consider to be "in". That you consider
yourself to be not "in", may be because your posts haven't been as
useful as they could have been.
Do you think I'm fair? I try to be. I don't blindly support friends. I
actually post against them when the situation calls for it, and I give
sincere praise where it's due, even to those who view me as they're
bitterest enemy. Is this how you have been? it would seem that a
champion of fairness SHOULD be this way.
I've been speaking for HM for the very reason of your complaint. He
doesn't communicate well, and gets annoyed very easily. While he was a
little blunt in his recent communication, he expressed the same idea as
Moviefan did, who has yet to receive criticism for it. While I would
have written it differently, I would have conveyed the same thoughts.
As to why he has and posts these movies, and doesn't look at them, this
is NOT anyone's business. Please respect his privacy. He posts to
please a few friends, at their request. And who can be his friend? As
he's said, any friendly person. How does he know who is friendly in
these newsgroups? He looks, and some of us tell him.
Mongerminder has at times volunteered to support Helpmonger, out of the
goodness of his heart. He was never asked to, but he is very much
appreciated by more than a few inhabitants of these newsgroups.
General comments about posters:
There is some risk to one's freedom in posting to these newsgroups,
more for some than for others, depending on where they live, and other
circumstances. Posting these kinds of movies increases this risk
greatly. There are many people who would like to share what they have,
but are afraid to, so they don't. For those who do post, there is a
fine line between posting and not posting, depending on their comfort
level. In other words, the motivating factors to share for others, must
outweigh their concern for the personal security risks they have to
worry about. When this motivation level drops below this fine line,
they stop posting. We've seen this happen time and again, and this is
how it should be. Do you really want someone to sacrifice his freedom
in order for you to have new ah, personal gratification assistance?
Some posters are uncomfortable when their posts cause trouble, or when
people act very stupid about their posts. This can reduce they're
motivation to post, to the level below which they will decide to keep
posting. I hope you can understand this. It's not about a desire to
control, or to be a boss, or even to be super respected. It's about
their good FEELINGS for posting, overcoming their their reluctance to
violate their personal security. They don't feel good about posting,
they don't post. It's that logically simple. Please keep this in mind
when you would be critical of a poster. if you want him to keep
posting, don't bother with him, unless he harms others.
I tried to be very careful in my comments about Jedi's rar posts. I
guess we will see if I succeeded.
Some posters post better than others. HM does it better than most. He
has an info file for each set, that contains more useful information
than most other posters provide. He posts pars. Some posters don't.
He does all this because it's how I advised him to do, and I set up
templates for his use. His helpers have said for him that he doesn't
want to communicate with people here. Now you see why. For all
concerned here, he should be considered just a posting machine, NOT a
Usenet "personality". This is how he wants it, and I support him in
this. Otherwise he WILL stop posting. If the Trolls interfere with my
representing him, he may stop anyway. I guess some people wouldn't like
that. :-)
