I only put pictures in zips. No viruses. I do it because it makes more
efficient posting and I can make pars so everybody knows they got it
all complete. I have Macs and PCs. Macs don't have viruses. I prepare
the posts on a Mac and post them from a PC so there are no viruses in
my posts. However I'm not responsible if anybody in a picture or movie
has a cold. (sniff)
Winzip allows you to open zip files without starting any autorun
programs. Other utilities might do that too. Zip files are safe. Its
just what's inside that might cause problems if you run them. So don't.
I have Norton AV on the Mac to check for PC viruses, and two AV progs
on the PCs so I'm covered all the way. I'm new to Macs so I know more
about PCs. The college I'm in prefers students have Macs so I got one.
They are really odd (no start menu!) but rock solid. If you somehow
crash one it doesn't hurt anything. I sure wish Windows was like that!
I don't have any plans now to post pictures again or take requests.
