I'm finding some of the same vid files from the other group which
are *not* corrupt luckily (that post made it ok)
Some of the splits sent *here* were indeed corrupt (slightly truncated)
so now I am starting to think maybe some of these things are being
caused by easynews, which I *hate* to hear.
I've made some pars for *one* of them so far, that will fix
the problem
I'm still *sorting* , comparing homer's need list to the ones
I have that I know are ok but I really hate those file names. : )
As to whether you post them as "whole files" or first made into
splits (preferred and with pars), it probably doesn't affect
whether some of the "news articles attachments" get truncated or not.
I've seen it happen in both cases, so that has no bearing.
Anyone who inisists on *only* downloading things that are
sent as "one file" ( they miss alot of posts if they can't join splits)
and they need to learn this simple procedure - and if pars are
sent, QP will join them anyway.
I'll work on all this, but in truth, the simplest and frankly *best*
solution would be for you to find (all ) those web cam files
you sent (the orig. joined copies) and just open up Quick Par
and create some repair blocks from *each* joined file. That
would fix any problem anyone could have - but I know that
sounds like alot of work. IN THE FUTURE, please just
run up a set of pars (10-15 % is generally ample) and send
with each and every vid posted. I think you really see the
value. JUST as important is when *you*download check
everything to verify. I hope you do that.
I'll work on these for you this time, as I'm well on the way to
sorting things and know what he needs .
IF there are some I don't have good copies, then it will be
up to you. A good poster doesn't leave anyone hanging if
things got sent badly (either by server or power post) If
*their* server is at fault, that is mostly their problem.
