NTSB RULES OUT KARMA IN GOP TRAIN CRASH
Washington- A prepared statement from the Honorable Ronald Sumwarts,
Chairman of the NTSB Board of Inquiry, described in detail why the
investigation into the collision of a chartered train carrying
GOP Congressmen near Charlottesville, VA, has ruled out "karma"
as a possible causal factor.
"NTSB investigators performed due diligence and carefully considered
the confounding karma question. The investigation quickly led to
a variant of an old philosophical question, 'The Trolley Problem.'
As a thought experiment, suppose that you could throw a switch
on a railroad track, causing a trainload of GOP lawmakers hurtling
to oblivion, and yet, on that same track there was one innocent person
who would also get killed.
Would it still be justified to throw the switch?
If 'karma', as we call it, supposes that the universe itself has
a moral code and moves supernaturally to punish wrongdoers for their
misdeeds, then surely an event which occurred supernaturally would
have to be justified if carried out as the moral decision of a
human being having access to the train track relay switch.
Kantian ethics refers to a deontological ethical theory ascribed
to the German philosopher Immanuel Kant. When we act, whether or
not we achieve what we intend with our actions is often beyond
our control, so the morality of our actions does not depend upon
their outcome. What we can control, however, is the will behind
the action.
Probably, the theoretical hand on the theoretical railroad switch
that theoretically hurled GOP lawmakers to a theoretical death would
have intended well, based on the principle of 'the greatest good
for the greatest number'. If this can be willed to a general principle,
in which all humans could partake for the greater good, then it
would become a categorical imperative.
We consulted numerous professors of philosophy who scratched
their chin whiskers wisely, and pondered what would constitute
the 'greatest good.'
Some analysts have forecast that 208,500 additional deaths could
occur by 2026 under the GOP-sponsored Senate health plan.
If our GOP President plays a dangerous game of 'chicken' with
nuclear-armed North Korea, it could result in 25 million deaths
for North Koreans, not counting up to nearly a million Americans
potentially killed if a single H-bomb were able to reach a
major U.S. city.
Since 1968, when gun-related figures were first collected,
there have been 1,516,863 gun-related deaths on US territory. Since
the founding of the United States, there have been in contrast
1,396,733 war deaths. A moralist must consider this in light of the
fact that the NRA is essentially a money-laundering arm of the
GOP, or that the GOP is essentially an arm of the NRA.
The GOP propaganda that 'guns make us safer' is mostly because they
are hankering for a new Civil War and want to have guns to
shoot down all the liberals. Under GOP rule, we will be lucky
if the CDC is even allowed to mention the word 'gun', much less
to measure its impact in mind-boggling death statistics.
The original Civil War cost 620,000 American deaths, so
the Civil War II for which numerous right-wingers openly hanker
would presumably be much higher.
It has been estimated that climate change deaths could total
100 Million By 2030 if the world fails to act.
All things considered, the single innocent person on the train
track is fairly small potatoes as far as the 'Trolley Problem'
ethical puzzle goes, but still our investigators have ruled
out 'karma', not on the grounds that such action would be
morally unjustified, but for the reason that a world so rotten
as this is highly unlikely to have an inherent moral code as
part of its basic construction, as would be necessary in order
to make the entire concept of 'karma' credible, at all.
Gravity, yes, mass and energy, yes, but morality, we must
sadly disagree. The fact that bad things happen sometimes to
bad people is merely statistical, in that bad things happen
to any and everyone, all the time, not that the universe plans
it that way as some kind of moralistic retribution, or that
there is any kind of 'inevitability' to it.
Even as 'symbolism', 'artistic expression', or 'poetic justice',
the collision of of the train carrying GOP lawmakers with a garbage
truck would be entirely too obvious and patronizing to the audience,
to be considered by any serious artist or poet."
NTSB investigators have also ruled out "karma" and "Pocahontas"
as having anything to do with the explosion that leveled a portion
of a building on the the Minehaha Academy's North Campus.

Aliens in Roswell
Hang onto your tinfoil helmet, because today we're going to
rocket into the history books and see for ourselves exactly what
fell out of the sky in Roswell, New Mexico in 1947.
In July of that year, a balloon train came down on the Foster
Ranch, 75 miles northwest of Roswell, New Mexico. Rancher "Mac"
Brazel, who had been reading about flying saucers, reported it
to the local Sheriff, who in turn reported a crashed flying
saucer to a Major Jesse Marcel at Roswell Army Air Field, but
not before the local press heard about it. The debris, totaling
some five pounds of foil and aluminum and described in detail by
Mac Brazel, was recovered by officials from Roswell Army Air
Field. These balloon trains were long ultra low frequency
antennas designed to detect Soviet nuclear tests, held aloft by
a large number of balloons, and were known as Project Mogul.

Twenty-two months after the crash of a Cessna 208B Caravan
Cargomaster following its night takeoff from Mobile, Ala., NTSB
investigators still appear no closer to discovering the cause of
the accident, although theories abound.
NTSB Preliminary: A Midair Collision
Numerous theories were subsequently proposed concerning the
cause of the accident, mostly suggesting a midair collision. The
FedEx DC-10, which was still at Mobile, was visually inspected
for damage, but none was found. Similarly, no components from
another aircraft were found in the area, and a piece of black
material embedded in the wing, and thought at first not to be
part of the aircraft, turned out to be from its cockpit light
dimmer assembly. Nevertheless, the apparently frequent
overflights of the swamp region by drug smugglers were cited
locally as a possible collision factor, as were other aircraft
"flying under the radar," terrorist rocket attacks, onboard
explosives, errant USAF drones, meteorites and falling space
junk. And inevitably, after it became known that the aircraft's
callsign was "Night Ship 282," one Internet conspiracy site
conjured up an encounter with a UFO, and suspiciously described
the Cargomaster's callsign as a "code name."

as he is only capable of regurgitating his campaign talking
