You're describing how to get a weapon from its launching
platform to Point X, defined in terms of latitude and longitude.
But to guarantee that there's something worth blowing up at
Point X, you need some sort of guidance from the launching
platform, be it based on sonar, IR, or the Mark I eyeball. I
still don't see how you're going to manage that with Zippy the
250-knot peroxide torpedo.

Abstract I present here a short personal view of our
understanding of the Chandra detected knots and hot spots of
powerful Fanaroff Rilley (FR) II ra- dio galaxies and quasars in
the context of leptonic models. Observations of the knots and
hot spots strongly suggest that the jets in these powerful
sources retain their relativistic velocities at large scales,
all the way to the hot spots. The emission mechanism suggested
for the knots of quasars and FR II radio galaxies is external
Compton (EC) off the cosmic microwave background (CMB) from a
relativistic flow, while for the hotspots Upstream Compton (UC)
scattering from a decelerating relativistic flow.

I've become convinced that he possesses a highly developed
Reality Distortion Field so powerful that it not only clouds how

KNOTS
I waited, these past months, with knots in my stomach, knots in
my nerves, and knots even in my soul. I waited for the binding
words to come, but all I heard, were the tangled rationalities
of strangled minds, reaching for escape. And I, too, felt the
need to escape, to be free of pain gathering from all the knots,
free from the betrayal of trust, from the loss of faith in the
structures of life, in the notion of intention, in the universe,
and me.
I waited for someone to say, what I always needed to hear. I
waited for someone to say, that androgyny is, in me, the
intention of the universe; and homosexuality a special gift by
the god of creation to me. I waited to hear someone say, that
being gay, is a declaration of joy; a confession of profound
faith in the intention of nature, and of trust in the structure
of life, the structure of the universe itself. I waited, but,
all along, I knew, it was not something I needed to hear.
It was something I needed to say.
Words are not mere echoes of a long lost past, they are a way of
remembering, how the structure stands. They are a way of
defining the structure, so that it does stand against any
assault on the intention of the structure itself. They are a way
of remembering, that it is from the structure itself, that
beauty and truth emerge.
Knots can bind, and knots can choke. Knowing the knot makes the
difference. Knowing the difference, makes the knot. Some of the
ancestors got it right. Some of them got it wrong.

Every poem is the manifestation of some set of assumptions.

This is still the same kind of knot maker.
What one does with knots one makes varies (Walt Whitman
or Emily Dickinson, Martin Johnston or Les Murray,
Lew Welch or Gary Snyder). Of course, the knot maker
could also be an egotistical show off - this is a
danger for poets, especially since notions of Romantic
genius and the egotistical sublime (which leaves open
the importance of didactic poems for pedagogical purposes).
