I really don't think Lynch intended everything to fit together
perfectly; I think the movie is more "thematic," as in working on a
particular theme, than plot-driven.  Even if you can rationalize what
happens, personally I don't feel there's a "Cliff Notes"-type solution
that everyone would agree on.

Stylistically, and taken in a "dreamworld" context, the film is quite
extraordinary.

I watched it before I ever got into drugs (except for caffeine
addiction), and I watched it while I was buzzed on amphetamines
once--both times it was great, and very surreal.  It's a hell of a
movie to watch with a good buzz going.

I imagine it would be interesting to see it on MaryJane, or any number
of other hallucinogens.

Anyone else want to comment?
