SHOPPERS OF THE APOCALYPSE
When the hurricane winds blow
they feed the refugees with Spaghettios
For months, there would be no electrical power
A woman was filling her shopping cart with silk flowers
The streets were filled with debris
A woman was chanting, "TV! TV! TV!"
When did the riot start?
When they opened the doors at WalMart?
In times of crisis, they pull together and help
... themselves, to everything they can
A man had stuffed so many DVDs,
he could not shut the door of his van
"Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!
God is so Great, I'm sure He'll forgive me!"
The shoppers were shoving and being very rude
There were worms in the intestinal fortitude
and a slight touch of madness in the air
in the Land of MacDonalds and Joe Millionaire
It could not be good for the national defense
to be such a picture of decadence
For emergency supplies, they pulled videos of pop stars
They were overexcited, from all the investment seminars
The flooding catastrophe washed out a convention of circus clowns
Turning real estate in 90 days, with zero money down
The shoppers scurried about in tremendous confusion
as capitalism came to its logical conclusion
It seemed like the downfall of Rome
when the roof blew off the SuperDome
