Hi Andy
You will need a number of programs to hide your collection and online
activities.
First, you will need to encrypt your collection with an on the fly
encryption system, like DriveCrypt ( http://drivecrypt.no-ip.com ). This
will stop her from finding your collection, as it will be in an encrypted
state when not in use. It is essential that you use an on the fly style
encryption system that stores your collection within a file, that when
mounted acts as a virtual drive. This is because the filenames will be
hidden inside the encrypted file. Some encryption programs encrypt the
file, but rename it to something like 'porn.avi.encrypted' . It's obvious
that it's a porn video, its just encrypted, whereas if the porn were
stored in a file called, say 'Documents.vol' then nobody would know what
is stored within the file at all, if viewed in notepad all the files
content is just random code, undecipherable without the correct password.
Once the porn is encrypted, you will then need to get rid of the tracks
littered around your hard drive, registry, start menu documents menu,
Media player etc. There are many hard drive cleaning programs available.
I'd recommend Evidence Eliminator ( http://evidence-eliminator.no-ip.com
) as it is much more thorough than any other hard drive cleaning
programs available.
Once you have wiped away the traces, you need to hide behind a proxy,
just in case she is logging your activities (being a sysadmin at a
school, she will be very good at this. Lol). I'd recommend JAP
(http://anon.inf.tu-dresden.de/index_en.html) for this. It's free, but
it does slow down your browsing, and the service isn't very stable (the
servers do go down quite frequently). If you prefer a faster commercial
service, with a much higher %uptime, then give megaproxy a try
(www.megaproxy.com).
It is essential that you always remember to use the proxy when browsing
certain websites, that you save your collection into the encrypted disk,
and that you run an Evidence Eliminator Safe shutdown or safe restart
after you have viewed your collection to clean up your computer.
