Perhaps the problem is this :

That is an e-mail program put out by Microsoft that hasn't been
meaningfully updated for newsgroup functionality in over a dozen
years.
A modern news reader (I use Agent, some are even free) is what most
experienced newsgroup people use and it would likely solve your
problems.
Incidentally, those are not broken links you are seeing but just raw
code. The microshaft software underlines it to make it look like a
link whenever it sees the "@" symbol. - Doc
