Well since you weren't here to know and would be clueless about this
and other things, the first on-topic commercial site that posted a lot
that I can recall would have been cyberlegs. However I can't remember
many complaints that it was "spam" and instead it was very well
received, indeed welcomed. Anyone remember differently?
(complaints came years later on weight and other issues but nothing
about the fact that it came from a site)
Any old timer remember differently?
Also dodger had a site early on and although he's a "commercial"
poster, you've spoken favorably to him in the past.
And, since you have tried with all your cerebral powers to change the
essential character of the group before, and now wish to re-write it's
history, you should also know that the on-topic sites did not
generally post here until and after it was a de-facto binary group.
There may have been off topic posts and posters in the mainly
non-binary days, but they were always forgettable.
In short both your premise and your facts are wrong.
Maybe when you got to this group at the end of 2004 you should have
listened to some of the old regulars here about the ways of THIS group
rather than engaging many of them in endless flame wars based on
misconceptions. Why don't you get off the anger path and stop trying
to remake everything? - Doc
