But boarding schools are still peer-heavy institutions,
which is exactly what we *don't* need. We need to end the
segregation of youth from adults, by creating institutions
that serve both instead of "youth-only" ones. Besides, the
history of most boarding schools involves way too much
status and attendant bullying, Summerhill aside.

Yes, but that was an adaptation of the war model; a useful
ones at that, but still its origins lay in training for war.
I do agree that man/boy sexuality can create powerful bonds
for the transfer of knowledge, however I would want it to
be part of a more peaceful, open, democratic, equalitarian
and gender-equal society than was ancient Greece.
