UPDATE:  The unwanted shut off problem resurfaced when the IPOD was shut
off by me using the remote and then restarted.

So re-setting the IPOD  appears to be only a temporary fix.

Bose is now suggesting installing the upgraded OS for the IPOD Nano gen
3, from 1.0.2 to 1.0.3.
