Hi Nik...
If they were MP4 clips, the following post I
made about 2 weeks ago should help you.
It is in reference to latest Quicktime v6.5.1

OK... copy this off with your printer or print down everything by
hand if you don't own one so you skip NO steps that I detail:
1.) Open QuickTime Player.
2.) Under "Edit" drop-down menu select:
Preferences->QuickTime Preferences
3.) From drop-down menu at top FIRST select "Browser" plugin
4.) THEN click the MIME Settings" button on bottom
5.) Click the "plus" sign to expand:
"MPEG - MPEG system, audio and video files" menu
6.) "X" the box that says: "MPEG-4 media file"
7.) Hit "APPLY" and then on "OK" to save changes.
8.) Close QuickTime and reboot computer.
9.) Now try opening a previously downloaded MP4 by double
clicking it in Windows Explorer or loading in QuickTime v6.5
