It is still very vague. Does this group exist as a definable entity,
perhaps have a name? Probably not. I would tend to take the paragraph as
meaning that the influence of the group continues rather than the actual
group itself. The second part seems to support this with its 'elements'
which could be physical elements but are more likely to be intellectual
ones, as if the group had broken up but its ideas had found new homes
within and without other structures.
