I have released a program called HindiWriter (freeware, but this is for
Windows only, so won't work in Linux or other platforms) which allows
you to do something similar, but it does not require any copy paste.
It works in-line, in most programs, including programs like MS Office,
Instant Messengers(MSN, YM), Notepad, etc..
It's a sort of IME tool, but uses the popular iTrans scheme of
transliteration.
