# > The Curious Case of Zero-Sum, Games, and Monopoly
"Josh Adelson" <adelson.05@NOSPAM.comcast.net>:
# Hi Rookie-Move, nice post. Don't mind me for omitting it, anybody who read
# through it all will remember it well enough for my one point here: Where
# the Principia Cybernetika seemed for you to momentarily hail Eris was not
# all that strange. The PC article is pointing out that collusive tactics
# between multiple players in Monopoly in an effort to share a victory are
# what, in combination with the bank's varied monetary injections, would
# prevent that scenario from being zero-sum. But this collusion matters not
# at all if the players don't agree to share a victory--and Monopoly has no
# mechanism in place for shared victory, and therefore it IS a zero-sum game.
# That's my take on that bit of that article, in any event.
thanks, your explanation does significantly clarify what the PC article
meant, and supports the notion that Monopoly is a zero-sum game. :)
