The "surprise" might well be that your random number generator is not
that good. It might well generate uniform numbers, but it might well
fail certain well-known tests, particularly for 'runs'. If it fails
that test, your results might well be overly optimistic or pessimistic.
Of course, 8-10x more productive could mean "loses less than other
progressions, but still loses overall" which is expected for any betting
scheme that does not include counting cards.
