I finally found information about this game buried deep within the net so I
am going to answer my own question so it is out on the internet.
Here are the differences between Blackjack and Rummy:
1) European Style Dealing -- They deal to the players and only take one card
into all the players are done
2) You can surrender on any two cards you have. If you have a 10-6 and the
dealer is showing an Ace, you can still surrender.
3) Blackjack is the same as getting 21 on 3 or more cards. It pays even
money and the dealer can still tie you.
4) If you get three of a kind (through splits or normal deal), you win 3 to
1
5) If you get Straight Flush below 17, you win 3:1. Straight Flush totaling
21=5:1, and Straight Flush totaling more than 21 pays you 4:1. Please note
the payouts may very from casino to casino in Costa Rica.
6) One of the most unusal strategies is that if you Have A-10 dealt to you
and the dealer is showing a 6. It would be in your best interest to double
down on your 11 and hope you get a 10 since 21 on two cards pays no
difference than 21 on 3 or more cards.
Hopefully this will help someone else out in the future who looking for
information on Rummy in Costa Rica.
