I'll spend some more time and find a couple more options before we all
decide to stay here.
The reason (and I believe that some of you missed our earlier posts)
is that the future of this group is in slight jeopardy.
I believe that ALL servers will EVENTUALLY stop allowing binaries in
non-binaries group. If not soon, maybe later. Usenet is getting too
large for the smaller companies to compete. Filtering out binaries in
non-binaries groups is in their best interest.
I grabbed "daws" in a heartbeat. There are hundreds others we can take
over. I'll spend some time in the next few days, and see if I can come
up with a few options.
Giganews is currently "king" of servers. There policy is no binaries.
I can see why they chose that route. Others will follow their
policies, trust me....I've been in here for 18 years.
Keep posting in here for now, but everyone please keep up on our
messages in case we decide to migrate.
I'm sure NONE of you would want to visit here some day, to only find
text posts. It 'will' happen eventually....trust me.
