You know, any actor is somewhat whacked if you think about it.
Spending your life pretending to be someone/something you're not.
Immersing yourself in a role to where your friends are scared for you
(I remember Diana Ross had that when she played Billie Holliday, her
friends thought she was truly going down an addiction path). Whether
or not the role had anything to do with his death, Heath Ledger was
totally insane (in a wonderful way) as the Joker. And, oh sure,
there's scores and scores of perfectly well-adjusted folks who just
happen to make a living on the screen.
That said...do any of us know what Noni goes through day to day?
Having her life dissected, unwanted photos taken, questions about her
personal relationships, it's no wonder it can make someone unnerved. I
wish Noni could/does read the fan base. Let her know of your support
and love; I've watched movies she's in that I otherwise would not have
seen ("Little Women" for instance), just because she was in it, and
came away thoroughly enjoying the entire film.
How would any of us handle the fame, as well as the downturns when the
films are poorly reviewed and the critics say we're washed up?
I can't speak for why Noni has done some odd things, but I've done
plenty of odd things myself, it's just that no one else cares about
them.
Here's to truly supporting our lovely Ms Ryder, and letting her know
that we will never waiver.
