Did you go up in the towers?

I went up to the top & visited the observation deck & roof of the south
tower back in the 1980s.
But I was afraid to go up again after the 1993 bomb attack, so I didn't
go up to the top when I visited the WTC for the Billy Gilman concert in
July 2001.
I thought about it, but I decided not to go up - in case the elevators
stopped working or something - since I didn't want to have to walk down
all those stairs from the top.
I figured something bad would happen there again someday, but in the
plaza and ground floors I thought I would be safe, so that's where I
stayed in July 2001.
Then I was back in NYC a couple months later to see the second of the
Michael Jackson 30th Anniversary concerts at Madison Square Garden on
September 10th.
After the show, I caught the last bus home and it pulled out of NYC
through the Lincoln Tunnel shortly after midnight, very early on
September 11th.
It was great seeing the illuminated NYC skyline from the New Jersey
Turnpike.
That was the last time I saw the twin towers of the World Trade Center.
